USCF Membership Levels
The United States Chess Federation (USCF) offers several membership levels1:
USCF Adult Membership
Anyone over 18 can join this type of membership. The cost is $45 for one year and $87 for two years.
USCF Senior Adult Membership
Age 65 and over. The cost is $40 for one year and $77 for two years.
USCF Young Adult Membership
Under 24 at expiration. The cost is $27 for one year and $51 for two years.
USCF Youth Membership
Under 19 at expiration. The cost is $20 for one year and $37 for two years.
USCF Family Plan 1 Membership
Parents and children under age 19, may include college-age students up to age 24. The cost is $85.
USCF Family Plan 2 Membership
All children under age 19 living in a household at the same address. The cost is $55.
USCF Life Membership 1
Age 64 and under. The cost is a one-time payment of $1,500.
USCF Life Membership 2
Age 65 and over. The cost is a one-time payment of $750.
USCF Benefactor Membership
Any age. The cost is a one-time payment of $3,000 ($1,500 if an existing Life Member).

Membership Expiration
Except for Life Memberships, all memberships will terminate at the end of the membership period. When a Member’s term expires, she or he must submit a new Membership application in order to be considered for renewal. US Chess has no responsibility to prolong or renew a Member’s Membership at the end of a term.
US Chess explicitly retains the right, at its sole discretion, to re-accept or deny to admit a Member following the end of a Membership term, or to impose additional entrance requirements. No Member shall have any right or expectation of continuing Membership beyond the end of a Membership term.
Membership Termination
Members and Applicants agree, as a condition of membership, that US Chess may suspend or terminate their membership for good cause, as decided by US Chess in its exclusive, good-faith discretion and according to the rules and processes outlined in the US Chess Rules. Good cause includes, but is not limited to: (1) any failure by the Member to comply with one or more US Chess Rules, (2) any failure to pay dues, (3) decisions resulting from the US Chess complaint process, or (4) any other reason that US Chess, in its sole discretion, determines is in the best interests of the organization.
